These materials will change the entire atmosphere of our classroom. ASD children have different sensory needs and unfortunately the materials needed to help them excel are not provided by the school/district, are not easily accessible and are costly. All of my students are nonverbal or have limited verbal communication. Being able to show what they know through number puzzles and other learning activity games gives them the opportunity to still access grade level content and show mastery. I have children who love to learn and to show what they know but they have a hard time working in the general classroom setting and need things to help them stay focused.
All children deserve a fair chance at learning. Fairness isn't "everyone gets the same thing; fairness is, everyone gets what they need." I am a fair teacher and I am committed to giving my students what they need. Please help me, fulfill my kids' needs!
