We know how fascinating and inspiring nonfiction can be for kids. We have historically incorporated Scholastic News and Science Spin into the Indigo curriculum as part of Reader's Workshop, read-a-louds, social studies and science. We would like to continue using these engaging resources with our students. We are also excited to add DynaMath to the rotation, to explore how math is incorporated fluidly in our lives. The magazines are engaging with their colorful photos, current news and science stories, and math connections. Not only are they interesting and informative, but they also foster an appreciation of having a world-view. They are also interactive and known to spark insightful conversations among students. Scholastic News, Science Spin, and DynaMath magazines will foster curiosity and exploration, all why building an enjoyment of reading nonfiction.
