During the COVID-19 pandemic most of my students were taught virtually in kindergarten. After getting to know my students the first weeks of school the learning gaps became clear. As a new teacher, I want to provide the support my students need and build my classroom resources available to do so. Becoming independent readers is our goal in first grade.
These decodables are a building block to becoming independent readers. With these books my students can practice applying phonemic skills during guided reading groups. These groups paired with the resources listed can close the gaps my students are experiencing. My goal is to provide a strong foundation in these skills to build confident readers.
About my class
