We serve a multicultural mix of students here at the Sixth Grade Academy. It is hard for non speaking parents and students to understand where certain places are in our building, information for parents and students as well as other things, due to our lack of signage in their native Language. We service 156 EL Students just in our building alone. We also serve a significant number of low poverty families in our area. With the capability to print posters/signage in the native languages of our students, we can better communicate and make them feel more included and welcome. Posters in the front lobby, hallways and classrooms will be so beneficial in helping to implement their inclusion into our C6GA Family. Our goal is to ultimately make the students and parents feel like they can see these posters/signs and be able to understand without feeling helpless.
