Each of my students learns differently, and they must have the tools they need to succeed. Many of my students have not been in-person learning and, because of this, are experiencing difficulty transitioning into a school setting.
These tools will be used in my classroom to soothe students while learning and transitioning into the new school year and engage them in all subjects.
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Weighted items, such as vests and stuffed animals, will help my students with their sensory processing, and will also help to calm my students when they need extra comfort. These items are known to help special needs students with sensory and emotional needs. Sometimes the classroom can be an overwhelming place for students with special needs, and headphones also help with minimizing sensory overload due to noise.
With these options in my classroom, I am confident my students will have a successful school year and become confident learners with your support!
