My project consists of literacy materials that are hands-on for young learners. These hands-on manipulatives make a difference allowing for high interest, variety, and motivation for students. Children can touch, sort and have an opportunity to learn concepts in concrete, easy to understand ways.
The materials allow for flexibility in teaching, for fine motor skills, language opportunities, as well as basic tasks like letter naming and and CVC word reading. In addition, many of these materials work flexibly for all types of instruction, small group, guided practice and independent practice.
