We are a small after-school program and have been looking at different STEM activities. We would love to have the materials in this hand2mind Classroom Makerspace STEM Cart to help expand our learning and hands-on skills. We don't have a budget that allows us to purchase this cart, but we are hopeful that donors like you will help us achieve our goal.
Our favorite things to do after school are homework, then getting to learn about the world around us and how we can explore it and make it a better place. Science was a favorite! We learned that things float and sink, and how shape and density influence what will float. We have learned about famous artists and how art makes life enjoyable and beautiful. We are looking forward to learning about technology and engineering in the next semester. With the use of the Makerspace STEM Cart we will be able to build things and use tools to help. We will use the the cart's materials for building bridges that will support weights for example. We will follow a design process by researching bridges, drawing a plan, using the materials wisely and making improvement along the way. We will test our design with weights to see how strong it is. Then we can write a summary to display along with the project. Having a Makerspace cart will allow us access to materials we do not currently have.
