After an extended period of time learning online, students need to be provided with non-digital, high-interest reading opportunities. They need to be able to physically hold and interact with a text again. They need to be able to annotate the text, practice metacognitive skills as they read, and circle new words as they read.
Storyworks magazines puts texts in students' hands and makes them WANT to read! The topics are highly engaging and every magazine includes a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts. The teacher materials that accompany the magazines are differentiated to meet the needs of all students in the classroom. These will help create lifelong readers.
