The materials in this project will give my students the ability to move and wiggle as they please without disrupting the learning of others. The flexible seating will keep them safe and limit the number of times they tip their chairs trying to move their bodies. The focus in my classroom is on 鈥渉ow can I fidget,鈥 rather than 鈥渉ow can I learn?鈥 Students will benefit greatly from having options of seating, and being able to choose a different option when the time comes. Each student will be able to have their own flexible seating, at a varying range of movement, depending on what they need. Without flexible seating, my students continue to put themselves at risk (falling out of chairs) and halt the learning of themselves and others in the room.
In other words, my students are wigglers who would benefit greatly from being able to move it, move it in a safe manner!
