As the school social worker I will spend time each month in the classroom teaching students about social emotional learning. I will be using adventure learning, art, and other activities to help each child learn to be socially and emotionally competent. My goal is for each child to develop self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills that are vital for school, work, and life. The stickers and bracelets will allow me to offer student motivation to participate in learning. The paint is for an affirmation rock garden for all students to take part in. The little spot of emotion will help inspire ideas for teaching these skills.
