Students would benefit from adequate hydration throughout the day to help them to focus better. Wearing masks for 6-7 hours per day already leads to lessened hydration. Our students are unable to drink directly from water fountains due to the safety guidelines (Covid-19 restrictions). A water machine in the classroom would help to provide cold water for my intermediate level students (3rd, 4th, and 5th grade---one machine per classroom) and cut down on having to go in the hallway to get water--which is tap water and less pure and healthy.
