With a population heavily concentrated with low-income, urban, English Language Learners, my students are not only learning their content standards, but also learning how to function in our modern environment. Teaching them study skills and giving them a variety of visual and interactive ways to interact with the material will be essential to their academic success this year and as they get closer to graduation, and ultimately, college. Giving them access to a printer will allow them to take home their digital creations for editing, publication or sharing with parents, friends and other teachers.
