The materials in this project will be used in the school, in individual and group counseling sessions. In small groups, the games will be used to help bond the group, talk about heavy topics, and to have fun together when the students are having a rough time elsewhere. In individual sessions, these games will be used to open up dialog, fill gaps in conversations or topics, and to decompress from outside stressors.
Play therapy, with games or toys, gives me (the counselor) a chance to see strengths and struggles the student is having in a way that the student feels free to express themselves without needing to use words.
