My students are more visual learners. I can use this to teach Science by using the biology in the creek on school property. How pollution affects the local ecology. and as well as how germs are spread in the classroom.
My students have a difficult time seeing items in the book and applying them to life outside. If our students can collect their own samples and study the changes it is believed they will be more interested and learn much more. And this may lead to a more diverse group of concerned citizens that understand the changes that are affecting their community.
