Studies have shown that utilizing technology in the classroom can cause more student engagement, more knowledge retention, and more individualized learning. Additionally, technology can be a valuable resource in addressing and closing the learning gaps that were created as a result of the pandemic. Currently, my students have no laptops or tablets to use in our classroom. Our school district utilizes learning programs like DreamBox Math and Learning A-Z, however, my students have no means to access these amazing programs at school. Not only do these learning programs align with the Common Core State Standards, but they personalize instruction from intervention through enrichment. This will help to strategically increase the learning velocity of my entire class--struggling students, advanced students, and on-level students. Additionally, these learning programs adapt to the individual learner through continuous formative assessment, which helps to provide the right next lesson at the right time. My goal is to give my students the means to access these learning programs at school with these fire tablets and headphones, so they can be utilized to fill the learning gaps created as a result of the pandemic, as well as push students to be the very best learner they can be. The products that I have selected as part of this project include tablets and headphones that students will be able to use individually to utilize our amazing learning programs.
