These materials will make an immense difference in the lives of our students. As a network of 7 schools, our students have varying social-emotional and behavioral needs across our schools.
This school year, we have seen a significant increase in students who need more intensive support, ranging from suicidal thoughts and ideation all the way to high-intensity rates of behavior.
Through this campaign, we are requesting pens that read aloud the text to students who have difficulty with reading which impacts their overall social-emotional wellbeing. We are also requesting various seating options to allow for flexibility for students who need alternative options along with sensory items for calm spaces within our school environment. In addition, we are also asking for some social-emotional activities and games that our counselors can use when providing individual or small group services.
We hope that with the support of these materials, we will be able to help our students get the support they need to be successful and thrive within our new school environment. This will allow us to have more options of support to provide to our students and help them thrive within the school environment.
