My plant and soil science class and my food science class are hands on opportunities for students. Many of these things are not in a school budget but are still required for students to learn. These items will help students take learning outside, in the laboratory, and in the kitchen. They can apply real life skills in a safe learning setting. Students will be collecting insects, identifying them, studying them, and learning about their habitats. Students will also be using chemistry in food science to see how proteins denature, carbohydrates expands, and lipids break down.
