I’ve been teaching Special Ed for 8 years and I’ve learned that most students with special needs need more sensory play and exposure to help them feel calm, focused, and grounded in their space. When they feel calm and focused they can engage in more learning.
My intention is to create a safe classroom environment that supports my students' sensory needs so they can continue to learn in a classroom environment. WIth the sand table and water table, and the accessories that accompany them, we can accomplish that.
Students will be able to experience their own joy of calm and focus while learning to read, write and do math at their own pace.
