The supplies that I am requesting will be to organize/set up our Robotics Lab. Our parts are in plastic bags and containers that we have borrowed from other teachers. We cannot charge all of our batteries at once and the strips will allow us to set up a charging station. We have to get organized. The students spend too much time looking for parts. The post-it easel will be for them to sketch and plan out their robots - brainstorming.
Students work in teams of 4 to build VEX Robots. Each student will have a job. One team leader, one programmer, one builder and one driver. They will have to collaborate on the design of the robot. They will first compete with each other, then they will travel to other her schools to compete. Our goal is to make it to states next year and then on to regionals. The students are after school 4 days a week and will have to be there 5-6 days a week when preparing for big competitions. We are actively recruiting more students. We would really like to have an all girls team.
Our school feeds into a high school. This is important because has an outstanding robotics program. They have partnered up with Tesla. This program will allow them to earn a certification that Tesla is pay $17 to $22 per hour. So if these programs do not inspire them to attend college, they can still have a career,
