The one major difference I have noticed in students as a result of the pandemic has been major shifts in their behavior. Self esteem and self worth has decreased, while anxiety and social skill deficits have increased. In order to best meet the needs of these students, it is imperative that I address their social and emotional growth. Through the use of classroom lessons, small group lessons, individual student discussions, parent and family outreach and school wide initiatives, I am able to establish a program to meet the vast and various needs of all the students in our school.
I want to create behavioral interventions for students , so that their focus can shift from their emotional wellness to their academic readiness. No student can successfully grow in their academic components without being social and emotionally ready to learn.
The support I would provide with the supplies I use as well as the calming environment I create, will help give a safe space for students to express themselves and make positive changes in themselves. I want students to get back to feeling confident and happy about being in school.
About my class
