Students will be able to meet the standard MU:Pr6.1.3a Perform music with expression and technical accuracy by practicing on the new instruments. Additionally, the students can work on the standard MU:Cr1.1.3a Improvise rhythmic and melodic ideas, and describe connection to specific purpose and context (such as personal and social). With the new instruments they will be able to create and compose their own musical ideas. (MU:Re7.2.6b Identify the context of music from a variety of genres, cultures, and historical periods.)
Giving students who are in-person learning in my classroom hands on experience with multiple instruments at the same time will encourage expansion of music ability. This addition of instruments, storage and technology will increase the ability to perform and connect art to their academic studies, lives and the world around them.
