The iPad cover will allow me to send the iPads home with students when they are excluded and need to be on distance learning. It will enhance their technology skills and further their 21st century learning. They will be able to do all their academic school work on these meeting all standards by using SeeSaw, Microsoft Teams, RAZ-Kids, Dreambox, Starfall and other learning apps. (21st century skills - Use of technology and digital citizenship)
The dolls and playhouse will encourage social skills when students have not had much interaction with other people during this pandemic. I want to normalize disabilities and make all students feel included in my classroom by seeing themselves represented in dolls with disabilities and accommodations in the room. This also included dolls of many skill colors and ethnicities. Students have opportunities each day to work cooperatively in groups to foster social skills, problem solve, and develop through play. They can imagine if their doll isn't able to hear well, they can give them hearing aides. If their doll can't walk they can use the wheelchair or arm braces. If their doll is blind, they can use the seeing eye dog and white cane. This will help to normalize disabilities and make students with disabilities included. When students play together in the dollhouse, they can learn life skills about homes and how to take care of yourself and others. They will have multi-cultural options of dollhouse people to see their skin colors represented. (SS.K.1, SS.K.10, SS.K.11, SS.K.13, SS.K.14, SS.K.15, SS.K.16) (Social Emotional Standards - Relationship Skills, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Responsible Decision Making)
