I am requesting individualized technology tools for my students. Due to Covid, students are no longer allowed to share resources in the classroom but are expected to learn in the same way that they have in the past. Many students cannot afford these technology accessories, but are things that are used daily within the classroom.

As a teacher, I want my students to use technology, and be successful at it, but need the tools to do so. With 18 students in the classroom, headphones will make our learning more successful so that students are able to focus on their own computer instead of having to tune out other classmates. The stylus will help students when producing writing or drawing math problems on the screen when using tools such as Nearpod to help enhance their learning. It is also very important for students to learn how to use not only their touch pad, but also a mouse. Some students who are in need of hand therapy may benefit from the use of a mouse vs the touch pad, plus computers outside of school do not always have a touch pad!
Now that we have gone over all the learning accessories we can talk about the logistics! As always, finding a way to keep 18 student laptops charged can be a challenge so providing them with multiple charging stations is key. Finally, because Covid has us cleaning regularly we should also be cleaning off our laptops, especially when those sticky fingers begin touching the screens! Providing my students with wipes will ensure that their computers stay nice for the many years to come!
