I am Maya Sylvia, a 3rd year teacher at Normandin Middle School. This year I went from a Reading Comprehension Teacher to a Special Education, Phonetic-based Reading Teacher. In this position, I give explicit instruction to students who are struggling readers. Learning to read in middle school is difficult. I want to give my students everything possible to become better readers before they go to high school. Through this project I want my classroom to be a fun, comfortable, and safe environment. Please help my project by funding phonics games, word/ letter cards, and flexible seating!
