These resources will help me to fill in the gaps with my students learning during Tier 2 small group learning. It will also help them during student discourse while they are learning to work together and share their learning with one another.
These materials will help my students grow and fill in that achievement gap in both Reading and Math. In Reading, the items will help my students with NVAC standards RF1.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes); RF1.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.; RF1.4 Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension; and RI1.2 Identify the main topic and retell key details of a text. In Math, these items will help my students with 1.OAB. Understand and apply properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction; 1.OAC. Add and subtract within 20; and 1.OAD. Work with addition and subtraction equations.
I do not have materials in my classroom to work with small groups to help them fill in these gaps in their learning and bring them up to where they need to be. I know they would be very excited at the opportunity to use these items and learn with them. There is nothing better in this world as a teacher to see the sparkle and gleam in a student's eyes when you see the wheels turning in their heads and that they finally got it and feel good about it!
