Manipulatives and sensory play are great for building hand strength and confidence in young learners and encouraging creativity and problem solving. Many of my students have started the year unable to hold a pencil, write their name or even pick up a pair of scissors. This has proven to be a huge defict and even discouraging to my students.
I want to encourage a more positive and hands on approach with a "Fine Motor 15" where we start every morning with 15 minutes of fine motor skill fun. Students will be able to work together in exciting and engaging new ways, not only building relationships but also their hand strenght and coordintion.
