I chose LEGO sets to use with my students as a way to promote social interaction, self-expression, and as a positive way for them to communicate their feelings. This school year, my students need extra support, as they were learning from home for a long period of time. As a result of this, many are struggling with social interactions with their peers and teachers.
By using LEGO Build Me Emotions and StoryTale sets, my students will have the opportunity to express themselves and interact with each other in a fun and creative way. We will use the LEGO sets in small groups as ways to build trust and collaborate with each other. My students who are not as verbal will use the special Build Me Emotions LEGO sets as a way to describe their feelings.
