Kindergarten students have a short attention span and learn best from working with their peers in academic centers. I can use all math, reading, and writing centers I am requesting during my center rotations. Students will benefit from these resources because they are able to engage and collaborate with their classmates. These games and activities I am requesting cover all the kindergarten standards across the board. Students are able to learn the English language, share, and listen when working these centers with their peers. They don't even realize how much they are learning when playing learning games with their friends. It is so important especially for the ELL students to have colorful tools they can touch, see, and play with to learn.
I can also use these centers in my teacher-led small groups. These materials are very engaging, fun, and I love the pictures to help my ELL students expand their vocabulary. I often just have students use their whiteboards to write words or math problems. I would love for the students to have access to these fun and meaningful materials. The students would be able to actively use discourse with one another. They will be making their own words, math problems, and use higher level thinking skills with these centers. It would be amazing for my students to have all these new learning materials!
