I would like to broaden my lesson library to be able to teach multiple, whole group social skills lessons and targeted small group lessons. One example of this would be teaching a whole unit on friendship skills. A few of the skills these lessons will address are problem solving, conflict resolution, expressing feelings, accepting others, listening, conversational skills, and empathy. More resources would allow for continuous teaching of these skills and more chances for students to practice these skills. Teaching these skills will reduce inappropriate behaviors and discipline incidences. Children are eager to learn and just like academics, these skills need to be taught and practiced. Help me to help my students learn and practice these important life skills.
