These standards will give my students a chance to accomplish their research of new topics to accomplish the following standards! At the end of each school year, the advanced computer science class spends an entire quarter researching new topics and designing an app for the congressional app challenge. This involves students teaching themselves about very difficult concepts like computer graphics, OpenGL, opencv, assembly language, linux, etc. The books in our cart each cover an area that students want to research in each year but have trouble doing so because we often don't have access to these types of resources.
A9-12.NI.C.1 - Compare ways software
developers protect devices and information
from unauthorized access. (P7.2)
A9-12.IC.C.1 – Evaluate computational
artifacts to maximize their beneficial effects
and minimize harmful effects on society.
A9-12.AP.M.1 – Construct solutions to
problems using student-created
components, such as procedures, modules
and/or objects. (P5.2)
A9-12.AP.M.2 – Analyze a large-scale
computational problem and identify
generalizable patterns that can be applied to
a solution. (P4.1)
A9-12.AP.M.3 – Demonstrate code reuse by
creating programming solutions using
libraries and APIs. (P5.3)
