It is essential that students learn phonics through several methods of instruction. The traditional paper and pencil method is not as engaging to little learners, such as Kindergartners, as hands-on learning is. Therefore, my class would truly benefit from spelling and phonics games to engage them. I would use these items for our literacy centers and would therefore need storage bins to keep it organized and provide easy access to them as well as maximizing our learning time.
Phonics pocket chart centers are a great way to practice reading and I know my students will love moving around letters to build words. Using the pocket chart for phonics will also be a great asset to practice spelling and matching vowel team games.
