Having a carpet with an assigned color square helps students stay in one place during carpet time.
We use the floor space daily in the classroom and my students are always really excited to sit on the carpet for storytime, show-and-tell, morning meeting, and mini-lessons. Sitting next to their peers on the floor motivates them to learn. However, I am struggling with keeping them at an assigned place.
I have been using numbered circles but the students often get distracted with those and peel them off. I just want them to have a special, distraction-free place in which they can go each day.
