I plan on using these books as read alouds to teach my students about representation, understanding, and compassion for one another through the diversity represented in the stories.
These books will help my students to see themselves within the characters and provide them the opportunity to learn about their peers.
I want my students to be able to learn from one another and the differences that make them special. I hope they can also hear these stories and go back home to share them with their families. These books can help my students to start conversations with one another to create empathy and community. I also hope that it will help them to build stronger connections in their homes and families!
