When working with preschool children I tend to find that they are very accustomed to having adults do EVERYTHING FOR them. By giving them the opportunity to learn this skill I believe It will help teach my students how to be responsible for their personal belongings and teaches them how to organize their things. I also believe that young children should learn to be independent as much as they can. That is an important life skill for atypical children but also, and I think even more so, for children who have special needs.
