With the supplies that I'm requesting, my goal is to provide an enhanced music experience for all 600+ of my students. The Shruti box is a box that plays any notes you want in a drone pattern (similar to a piano) and allows students to be surrounded by sound, which improves auditory skill. (MU:Pr4.1.1, MU:Pr4.2.1, MU:Pr4.3.1, MU:Pr4.4.1, MU: Pr4.5.1) This little box could be used daily in all grades. Of my 600 students, half of them are allowed to play ukulele (grades 3-5). We have a great class set of ukuleles and I would love to enhance my student's playing experience even more. With a class set of ukulele tuners, students would be able to individually tune their ukuleles on their own while also developing the auditory skills to match the sound they hear from the tuner to the sound of their instrument. With the sets of stickers, I'll be able to label important chords on the ukulele to give all of my students a visual aide when playing/performing. (MU:Pr4.3.1, MU:Pr4.4.1, MU: Pr4.5.1, MU:Pr4.3.4, MU:Pr4.4.3, MU:Pr4.5.4) Music is a subject that blends into all other subjects (whether it be language, math, or SEL) and is essential to have at the elementary school level. Your contribution would help not only supplement my student's music education, but give them a more well-rounded education al together.
