The gradual release of the teacher modeling first, then doing it altogether, and lastly students having the independence to do the activity on their own is an essential model in our class. But often times a wrench is thrown into the works when our projector and computer connection cords glitch sending the projector display into the blue screen of death. Which then leads my students to plead to the projector gods above to take their language arts books in exchange for displaying the presentation again, which surprisingly does not work. With this Apple TV, iPad, and Apple pencil we will not only avoid the blue screen of death but it will also improve our pacing of the lesson and improve my ability to assist students who have questions or need help. In light of Covid-19 my students are coming in at a lower than normal understanding of various subjects, specifically Language Arts. Using these devices that I've requested I will be able display the book or story we are examining while also marking it, taking notes in it, showing student work and having classroom discourse on it while also moving around the classroom assisting students. I do believe this will have an impact on my students learning experience.
