We've decided to create a aquatic tank where we can raise 25 tadpoles. Third-grade scientists spend a lot of time thinking about survival, reproduction, the life cycle and environmental influence on organisms. Having a large aquarium in the classroom will help make explicit things we are studying in our science work.
Students will begin by putting plants in the aquarium and letting the water settle for a ew days, before our tadpoles and other aquatic organisms arrive. They will record and keep track of pH levels and temperature and will be in charge of feeding all organisms in the tank.
I'm excited to introduce these materials to the kids and to grow our own family of frogs!
