This tablet with a translating app, will help my students to even the learning scale. They could translate a word, phrase or text they don't understand in English. Right now they have to use a dictionary to look up words, but that's time consuming. They can't look up a whole paragraph. Technology can help them to reduce the amount of time they spend translating text and keep up with the class. For many ELLs seeing several paragraphs of dense text is very intimidating. This tablet will allow ELLs to focus on smaller portions of a text -- reducing the cognitive load as they create meaning of the passage. Ultimately they can accelerate their learning.
