We have students in focus group therapy where we practice mindfulness and create calming activities to increase mental health and well being. Project based activities are creative, calming and keep students invested and interested in doing hands on work to increase their mental health. We are trying to make space for students to use their time to slow down and focus on well being. Most of these items are science backed to increase joy and mindfulness and reduce anxiety in students. We often have students who need a break due to various mental health issues. Having activities to activate their senses brings them back in the moment and helps them stay grounded so they can continue on with the rest of their school day.
