Technology is a vital part of education in the 21st Century and even more so now in the COVID era. Our student body has limited access to technology at home, thus amplifying the need for the schools to supply this learning and teaching opportunity. We have successfully been able to get our students access to 200 ThinkPads for use in the regular classroom and during and after school academic support classes. However, we do not have a way to store, charge, and move the computers from class to class to class. Adding these two computer carts will allow us to bring technology to life in multiple classrooms throughout each day! These portable, secure, charging carts will allow students to meet all six Nevada Computer and Technology Standards (1. Creativity and Innovation, 2. Communication and Collaboration, 3. Research and Information Fluency, 4. Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making, 5. Digital Citizenship, 6. Technology Operations and Concepts). These carts will also provide our students access to computer programs like Lexia and Dreambox that provide additional academic support to all students in ELA and Mathematics.
