I have requested a class subscription to Scholastic News magazine. I have also requested books that will help my students continue developing their love for reading and connections with each other. We will use these books to help provide variety as we start books clubs in our classroom. Students are excited to read different texts and share them with each other. Students will also share book reviews and recommendations during book club time. This will help build excitement over books when a student sees another student choose a recommended title! Students will be invited to take books home to read with their families and share their book reviews. Students will be able to pick from a variety of high interest books, as well as Scholastic News magazine, that are at their reading level. This will help my students build success in reading as well as feel confident to discuss or review their books. Students will be invited to take a book home and share with their families. This will help build a stronger home school connection!
