These items will help me provide different ways of instruction for my students. I am requesting an iPad and an Apple Pencil because I would like to record my lessons and upload these videos to YouTube so my students can still learn from home if they have been excluded due to COVID. Students are continuously being excluded due to close contact or due to getting sick with COVID or other symptom-related illnesses. They should still have access to what we are learning in class so they do not feel like they fell behind while they were gone. By creating videos for all my lessons, students will still be able to learn all standards covered in the class even if they are required to stay home for those lessons. This is crucial for topics such as Logical Arguments and Line Relationships in Geometry where writing proofs can be a difficult concept for students (HSG.CO.9, HSG.CO.10, HSG.MG.3).
In addition to the technology I need to make learning accessible for all students, I am also requesting a few snacks and mechanical pencils so that I can give them to students whenever they are in need of a pencil or a snack. Students can't learn if they are hungry and I would like them to feel safe asking for a snack when needed.
