Unfortunately, due to Covid related school closures within this last year many of my students have never experienced a structured school setting or many social interactions with other children their own age. Because Kindergarten children are still developing their language at this age and with the addition of limited social interactions we are noticing a bigger and bigger language deficit in our students.
The dramatic play materials that I am requesting will help enhance my students play by providing them with familiar materials found in their homes promoting back and forth language opportunities within a group of children.
By providing my students with more opportunities to explore their language and participate in adequate social interactions my students will benefit in their literacy development as a whole. (listening, speaking, reading, and writing)
