The materials I have requested will help my students gain a greater understanding of the place value system, understand multiplying fractions, and gain a better understanding of different operations with fractions. Distance learning created many learning gaps within my classroom and these tools will help make the math more concrete and give the students a greater understanding of the standards being taught.
My class finds the place value system challenging and would benefit from a visual representation that they can use each day ( 5NBTA1, 5NBTA2, 5NBTA3, and 5NBT4). As we enter into multiplication of decimals the decimal models will help them understand the concepts of multiplying decimals (5NBT&). The dice, fraction models, and fraction multiplication models will assist students in hands-on activities to master the concepts taught in 5th grade fractions (5NFA1, 5NFA2, 5NFB4).
