I am seeking several resources to support many Grade 2 Engineering, Science, and Reading Standards. Children learn by doing! Students need engaging learning activities that will keep them interested and motivated to learn. Students missed out on so many hands-on experiences last year during Covid while online learning. Students need to not just read about the Science and Engineering Standards but actually do them! Students learn best through hands-on experiences while collaborating with their peers. These resources will support my instruction in Science-2LS2-1, 2LS2-2, 2LS4-1, and Science 2-ESS-1, 2, 3. Students will plant grass seeds to monitor and observe their growth. Students will use cornmeal to create landform models and then be able to watch how water affects the landform. The resources will also support Engineering Design in the NGSS Standards K-2ETS1-1,2,3. Students will be exposed to high-quality literature of diverse people that invented or came up with solutions to problems through engineering. Students will be able to have the opportunity to work collaboratively to create together and solve problems. Students will be asking questions, using models, making a plan, and carrying out investigations while meeting the standards all while working collaboratively with their peers.
