My students have been working on a café project since the beginning of the year. Both the foods and business CTE programs will be involved in this project and will work together to build a business from the ground up. Not only will students be learning the main content of the business and how it works but they will be also learning how to do it doing during a pandemic. They will utilize their strengths to adapt and improvise while staying within the requirements of health codes, state guidelines and the school districts guidelines during Covid-19. This creates many bumps in the road and things are not as easily done. Eventually our café goal is for it to be student run and operated throughout the entire day in our new student center. It will become part of a school to career program and create jobs for our students during they day where they also take classes.
