By helping me fully fund my project you are giving me the opportunity to provide all students with hands-on learning experiences through everyday play. I am lucky enough to work in a district that still allows play into their kindergarten curriculum every single day- since we all know play IS the most important JOB of a child help me help them do and play their best this year and help me purchase materials that will encourage learning through play and learning by doing for many years to come.
No matter how long ago, I bet you can still name your kindergarten teacher- that's how important my job as Miss Roling REALLY is.
After teaching first grade for five years I recently moved to a new school district and switched to teaching kindergarten. I am loving the kinder life and all of the chaos it brings with it but quickly learned I do not have all of the materials and items needed to help these new learners do and feel their best! I am asking for materials that will help me reach all students and all types of learners targeting all their varying needs and learning styles including learning through play and accommodating sensory needs. I am also asking for role playing material such as a doctor kit, hair stylist costume, police officer costume, a cleaning set, and a chef costume to help students immerse themselves into role playing scenarios which encourages empathy, cultivates perspective, use of communication and problem solving skills, provides choice, as well as makes many students more comfortable and less embarrassed in new situations and scenarios.
I am also asking for a large classroom rug to provide students with a whole-group learning space throughout our day. We currently sit on our tile.
