These tuners will be used for students to be able to practice efficiently at home. The difficulty about string instruments is that they need to be tuned on a daily basis. For some students, they were able to use a tuner with their school assigned Chromebook, however, many of the students don't have internet access at home and thus can't use the virtual tuner. Others tried to use their phones, however, many complain that they are unsuccessful due to the poor quality of some tuner applications. With these tuners, students will be able to tune their instrument at home accurately and in a timely manner so they can focus on their practice exercises.
The overall goal with these tuners is that it will facilitate the learning at home and in the classroom by having students tune their instrument on their own. Then we can assess and let the students know if they were successful in tuning and if they weren't, tell them why they were not. Tuning of Guitars, Vihuélas, and Guitarrónes are important in the development of a young musician.
