I want my students to have a classroom library where they can read books comfortably and not worry about COVID because they have to share the books with other students in other classes. I want to provide my students a safe learning center where they cam continue to enjoy reading books without worrying about getting the virus.
Additional books in my classroom will help improve literacy! Reading real books will help increase my students' memory because it engages their senses to help them concentrate when they are reading.
I plan to set up a small library in my classroom. With additional book sin my room, a bookshelf will help me keep the books organized. The ottoman will help my students sit comfortably while they read their favorite books in our mini-library. In addition to books, bookshelves and ottoman, I also want my students to read their book on their desk without getting distracted. A privacy shield will help them stay focused while reading their books.
When students read more books, it will help improve their academic performance. I have seen what reading real books does to my students. Just simply tracking the words along as they read a story helps them understand what they are reading because they tend to absorb more information when they read real books.
