I am a new SLP, with only 1.5 years experience, and have very few books to use with my students to work on their expressive/receptive language goals through literacy.
The materials I have requested (books, grammar activities, ‘wh’ box, main idea Bingo etc) will assist my students with their language goals of asking/answering 'wh' questions (who, what, where, why) with 3+ words, staying on topic, story-retell/comprehension- to include all elements of the story, inferencing from pictures, positional concepts and vocabulary. In addition, I have requested materials such as CVC sounds to help my students with phonology or speech sound goals (e.g. consonant sequencing, or single sounds /s/,/g/, /f/, /r/).
In addition, I would like to be able to create more exciting materials for them with a color printer. I also would like to create an area in my office where all students have their own individualized folder, with their speech thermometer (progress tracker) and goals included in the folder.
